What da..... f...?? He is crying and it is translated as oekkk oekkk?? 🤔

Anyway for those wondering why there was a long conversation about a competition being helped in 3 years time, if you remember girl, Tan Yun married and forgotten about at the beginning of the series she will be at the competition held by the Immortal Fairy sect but remember she wont remember him either, so this conversation is to lay in the groundwork for this meeting, plus finding one of Tan Yun's missing swords

Dase • 2 years ago

He was severely injured when he went to the life and death challenge against Li Zian
To Tan Yun it wasnt a problem since he has a superior healing ability, it also allowed him to avoid Li Zian's master when he came for him, since everyone thought he was badly injured and couldnt come and meet him or answer questions but the master wanted to do a memory scan on him which was refused by the Shen elder

I don't know why they made a reference at this point to the hongmeng god sword. Tan Yun hasn't had a reference to them until later. He did have a conversation with the 2 dragon spirits in the temple - he raised them back in the day. Maybe then? They told him of the battle of the gods, so the following is more explanation than spoiler.

There are 13 different magical forces in this world - dark, light, fire, water, ect. Tan Yun uses 11 of them, incredibly powerful. He had a set of 11 swords that he made when he was the supreme god that he uses as flying swords and in formations, as well as a battle sword with 11 attributes.

Those swords were brought to this world for him by his subordinates for when he reincarnated, but those subordinates were killed in the battles of the gods trying to protect humanity from extinction by the gods under the situ supreme and chaos supreme.

Dase • 2 years ago

Actually it was more to do with protecting Tan Yun than humanity, humanity were just collateral damage since Chaos and Origin Supreme's subordinates couldnt find Tan Yun's exact location, they thought it would be better to kill everyone
The whole conversation was actually to perk Tan Yun's interest in the forbidden regions, he already know that his subordinate descended to the lower realm and he knew if anything his sword may or may not be brought along as well, since he assumed his weapons might possibly be in the hands of his enemies as well

In terms of the novel, the author uses this as a plot device to set up the groundwork so that Tan Yun has more than just a reason to attend the competition to explore the forbidden regions, Tan Yun realises it is his sword when he sees it for the first time

TheMMSpirit you read the novel? By any chance is there a decent English translation? Or did you read it Chinese like Dase?

Dase • 2 years ago

They were the one who told me that they found a machine translation website for Against the Sky Supreme and no longer need to read my spoilers :)
I believe I posted it to you already

Aerlis Ambrosius • 2 years ago

ooh! lol. thanks anyway, as you know I truly can't stand machine translated novels. Its like scratching nails on a blackboard. But I was hoping someone might have found a decent translation somewhere. Guess not.

Still hoping for a decent translation of Eternal Life / Immortality past chapter 62. Since the donghua is out it might spark some interest. Ch. 62 - Last chapter with a good translation was several years ago.

I dont know if TheMMSprit read can read Chinese or not but that was what they said last time

Translators that pick up a novel because it is being made into a donghua tends to not last, since it depends on whether the donghua remains popular or not and also whether readers would be interested in reading it. In this instance since the donghua made a lot of changes to what was in the novel, I dont think people will pick it up, but I hope I am wrong and someone does or at least continue where it was left off for people interested, I will probably read Yong Sheng once I finish Fanren book 2

TheMMSpirit • 2 years ago

the novel is named differently on a mtl site. JPMTL dot com. If I try to post that, it doesn't show. It is called Lit the Supreme Being, and I read most of it, but stopped for reasons after a while. They do have Peerless Martial Soul (called pm Spirt in the anime), the new anime immortality is called Eternal Life for the novel, ect.

Aerlis Ambrosius • 2 years ago

Ah I see. Ok thank you I found it now. Actually, I remember reading the manga but forgot the name. I checked out several novel sites with that name but they were all MTL. Sorry, but I just can't read that. Its too horrible. For example from Ch. 1: "In his first life, he was the majestic supreme of the heavens and all realms.Chaos Supreme and Siyuan Supreme, after jointly killing themselves, cursed themselves for entering the cycle of eternity!" and a few sentences later: "The Supreme Chaos, the Supreme Siyuan, I, Tan Yun, will surely ascend to the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm, and then reach the God Realm, so that you will not die!"

Those guys are his enemies. They killed him...they did not kill themselves. Tan Yun wants to kill them, not make sure they don't die. So, its messed up and incomprehensible from the start

TheMMSpirit • 2 years ago

Exactly right. MTL seems to require you stop and figure out what exactly is going on. I think Chinese must be less precise than English. Every other sentence someone's gender is different in the mtl, or their names are randomly translated or honorifics or something are used. It makes it hard to keep up with the more poetic and symbolic language of Chinese such as you just described.

Aerlis Ambrosius • 2 years ago

My Chinese is not very good but I can tell you the word for He/Him & She/Her is written differently but sounds the same, so there is a lot of gender confusion among translators...which you would think would not be all that hard to figure out. Especially considering they are translating the written "He" or "She" and not just hearing it, so honestly there is no good excuse for it, but it happens all the time. Similarly those two gods killed mc, not themselves, it was suicide...it was murder. So it shouldn't be that bad. I don't really know.
